word to the wise

So lately I've been finding myself in a lot of situations that test my beliefs. Situations where I KNOW if I still thought the way I did before, I would've made completely different decisions. When you get the opportunity to put what you learn to the test, it's a good feeling to know you made a better choice than you probably would have before. I feel like my mind rapidly expanded this past year and keeps growing faster and faster....I get so excited thinking about the person I am today and what else I'll learn in life to make me the person I'll be in the future. This is probably the first time in my life where I feel "wise" - as if in my head I'm pushing against the ceiling of young adulthood and entering another level of maturity. I honestly FEEL older on my birthday!

Anyway, lots more to discuss about the wonders of life but civpro is calling my name, adios!

wal-fart!

Walmart is seriously the greatest poster child for the American image in the media. They look like they've paved the way for the thrifty American shopper trying to get the most bang for their buck, while also giving disabled grandpa a job by greeting you with a smile when you walk inside. But behind close doors the company has some of the worst labor practices. It's so funny...after watching the news reports on the shooting of congresswoman gifford, there goes Walmart running ads on how their employees "love working at Walmart" and blah blah just because they're afraid their involvement with the shooting will leave a scar on their billion dollar company. COME ON WALMART stop wasting your money on stupid ads and start paying your employees more!

This is a great documentary on Walmart. Please watch and learn!
