Things that make me happ-EEEEE!
In random order:
1. Bear hugs
2. Lollipops (especially the ones sold in line at Wal-Mart or Bed Bath & Beyond (lol) that have funky flavors like peanut butter & jelly and pina colada, they are so GOOD!)
3. Music - anything and everything about it. Watching my ever so talented friends make music. Listening to a good song that makes you FEEL something. Singing my heart out in the shower...
4. ART - try finding art in everything you see, because I do!
5. Deep conversations about life
6. When I have random conversations with people I don't know. EX. Today at work I had a conversation with this lady in the bathroom while I was trying to wipe off the food I spilled on my clothes. She was telling me how that always happens to her because she likes to eat in her car while driving to work. Then she told me she could barely notice the stain, and wished me a good day. <-- HUMAN CONNECTIONS, on every level make me happy
7. Learning new ideas
8. Playing with my nephew :)
9. Helping people that are lost, and people who help me when I'm lost
10. CATS! I love cats
11. The internet!! When I was little I used to think that traffic lights were the best invention EVER. Now, I'm pretty sure the internet is ten times cooler
12. The jokes on popsicle sticks - they always make me laugh!
13. Home cooked meals (haven't had one of those in a while)
14. When I see, give, and feel: passion, inspiration, and love
15. The smell of sprinklers when they water the grass
16. When people (ok mainly my mom) send me funny emails
17. When I see other people that are happy!
BE HAPPY!!! It sounds SO SIMPLE.....and I think it is, but as humans we always like to complicate things. Even if you think you're having the worst day in your life, just remember those little things that make you happy and consciously choose to BE happy. As a happy person, you will attract other happy people into your life. I feel like this is where I'm at in life right now - with the right people at the right time. Truly Blessed!

PROP 8 - good read!
My very awesome friend D made an amazing post about prop 8 which is everything I started to say in my previous post but didn't have the energy to do so. READ IT, all of it!!! I'm sure it'll give you a different perspective on the fight for gay rights -

I think it's the Aquarian in me, but I have so much passion for radical change and humanitarian efforts. I'm trying to reason how I could accomplish this while still maintaining the prestige and status that my parents 'expect' of me. I want to find a career in grassroots organizing. But I know that doesn't pay shit. I'm totally fine with that - but I'd be lying if I said I was fine with having my parents (ok, my dad) be disappointed in me that I didn't follow through with my dream as an attorney. So as of RIGHT NOW, I realized that I am going to have to sell my soul to corporate America for a couple years in the legal field in order to gain that prestige and power that is NEEDED 1) for my parents and 2) in grassroots political action. Because let's face it - those couple letters after your name, whatever they may be (PhD, PsYD, JD, MA, MS) gives you the leverage needed for change. THIS IS THE PLAN and I need to stop deviating from it because it makes me so goddamn anxious thinking about post-undergraduate life.
ANYWAY, I hate Beyonce. And I hate the radio. Please listen to her new song "If I were a Boy" and tell me how retarded she is for agreeing to use her talented voice on such crappy lyrics. I'm not even gonna go into some in-depth lyrical analysis because it's not deserving! I'll probably be even more heated once I watch the music video to this song. Ugh.....stay tuned.

Conspiracy Theories
I have a sick obsession with conspiracy theories. I think it has something to do with my cynicism and constant urge to combat (or maybe understand) ideology and human consciousness. Do you ever wonder why "conspiracy theory" carries such a negative connotation? Because they often de-mystify everything that those in power wish to keep a secret. I've heard much about Zeitgeist in the conspiracy theory world and I finally watched it the other day. Oooooh weee..it's like they took every major conspiracy theory, linked them all together, and put it in words that any literate human being can understand. It doesn't seem like a stretch, unlike some other crazy theories out there (but I'm still convinced MLK's assasination was planned by the feds). Peter Joseph is a mastermind! Even if you don't believe any of his assertions, it's nice to have a different perspective on ideas you hold dear to your heart. It's good to have your world view shaken up a bit, no? That's what I live for!

EL PRESIDENTE!
NEW WORLD ORDER! Obama pwned McCain for the presidency. I'm curious to see how the history books are going to frame this election when my children take APUSH.
I'm also curious to see what's next on the agenda for same-sex marriage now that prop 8 unfortunately passed. REALLY, we should attack marriage as an institution altogether. All this extra bs comes with the title of "marriage" - healthcare benefits, property rights, trust benefits, children, etc.etc. You can't get these with civil unions or domestic partnerships. But we shouldn't let the title of "marriage" open doors for all these opportunities that we SHOULD receive otherwise! So what if little suzie learned that mama bear and papa bear got a divorce and papa bear ends up loving big daddy bear down the street......THAT'S LIFE!

Wow!
I've been playing with the idea of creating a new blog recently only to remember that I started this one a year ago and haven't used it since! Well, I've made it a priority to blog at least two or three times a week to get a lot of shit out of my head and off my chest. The idea of writing my insane thoughts in a space that is easily accessible to the public feels so liberating! I wish 'criminals', people living on the streets, sex offenders, and third-world people in poverty could all blog about their lives because I would LOVE to understand their view of the world. I bet it would be a lot more interesting than the privileged rich folk we idolize on tv. ANYWAY, I will type out all my jumbled mess, however irrational and incoherent and grammatically incorrect it may be YA DIG?
Fingers must keep up with brain!
Food for thought: Do you ever stop and think about your morals and values and what influenced you to think the way you do? How do YOU determine what is good or bad or right and wrong? Religion, parents, education, the media?? Stop and think about it sometime! I love the internet....so many different outlets of information. Think critically about all the information you're bombarded with and take a step back, read arguments on both sides and form your OWN opinions. Don't be a puppet of ideology! Unless you like that kind of secure way of thinking.....to each his own. I don't know about you but healthy skepticism keeps me searching for new answers....or maybe new questions (?)
Live with intention! Everything begins in your consciousness and manifests into energy that is passed through your body. Our bodies are so limiting sometimes. What if we were all just balls of energy floating around the streets.....with eyes and ears and a mouth so we can still see hear and speak and still felt each others' energy when we touched - that would be SO COOL to eliminate all the bullshit that comes with the body. Like menstruation.
